• What is an annuity?

A financial product sold by financial institutions that is designed to accept and grow funds from an individual and then, upon annuitization, pay out a stream of payments to the individual at a later point in time.

•	Annuities provide set payments over a period of time that is designated through options selected by the contract owner.

• What is a deferred annuity?

A deferred annuity means your earnings grows tax deferred until take you withdraw or receive the annuity income. However, the IRS will penalize withdraws prior to age 59 1/2.
